Create an Ikebana Centerpiece
1:00pm-2:30pm
Sunnyside Nursery, Marysville, WA
Presented by Machiko Faught (President of Ikebana International/Seattle Chapter)
Learn the ancient Japanese art of Ikebana and walk away with a stunning centerpiece you made yourself! In this intimate, hands-on class you'll explore the meditative principles of Ikebana under the guidance of an exceptional instructor.
Machiko Faught, President of the Seattle Chapter of Ikebana International and member of the prestigious Sogetsu Teachers Association, brings a deep expertise to every class. With students spanning the country, Machiko has a gift for making this centuries-old art form feel approachable and inspiring for all skill levels.
Plan to bring flowers and twigs and your own flat-bottomed centerpiece dish. We'll provide the kenzan frog for you to learn how to compose an arrangement that reflects Ikebana's signature harmony of line, space, and natural beauty. Extra twigs will be provided, so don't worry if your garden is a little sparse!
Come ready to slow down, get creative, and discover a new way of seeing the natural world — one intentional stem at a time.
