Bamboo Trellis Workshop

1 pm to 3 pm
Bellevue Botanical Garden Visitor's Center
You will make and take home a trellis in this class. You will also learn different techniques, sizes and shapes. The bamboo is provided. Bring scissors, bypass pruners, gloves, and weather appropriate clothes. You may want to bring objects to incorporate into your trellis. Everything else is provided. We plan to be inside for preparations/lecture and outside for construction. $30 and includes the bamboo.

Copper Trellis Workshop

Back by popular demand, Kathleen DeMaria will be teaching the copper trellis workshop again this year. You will make and take home a trellis that will be about 1' wide by 6 ' high. Soldering is a great technique to learn. Bring gloves and dress for working outdoors. Cost is $50 and includes materials.

Advanced Copper Trellis Workshop

For those of you who have taken one of her introductory classes, Kathleen has more of a challenge for you. Bring gloves, and if you own a propane torch, copper pipe cutter, or any of the other copper tools we used in your previous class, label them and bring them with you. You will make and take home a trellis. Dress for working outdoors. Cost is $50 and includes materials.

Make a Rebar Bender

Garden Mosaics

We're lucky enough to have Rachael & Jill doing a mosaics workshop for us. Perhaps you've seen the article on Rachael Bigham's mosaics in the Garden section of your local newspaper. They have most of the material you will need to create a stepping stone or you can bring a sculpture or something else you'd like to mosaic. Get inspiration from their beautiful garden mosaics. Cost is $30 and includes materials.

Create a Mediterranean Fragrant Wreath

Imagine armloads of sweet fragrant bay leaf interwoven with glistening willow, or rustic grapevine, or fanciful kiwi... Judy Zugish taught this class for Molbak’s, and now we have her to ourselves. She's supplying the materials, and you'll walk away with a beautiful wreath. Cost is $35 and includes materials.
October 4 & 11, two Saturdays
Pond and Falls Building
Instructor: Sergio Martinez
10 am to 3 pm, both days
Private Home in Seattle - Directions given with registration
Sergio and crew will build a pond with a stream and waterfall. The pump, filter and electricity will be installed. It will be in two sessions, a week apart. This is not a hands on class, unless you just can't help yourself. It's intended to be observation. Cost is $40.
